Sailing Club Divers was originally established as Octopus Diving Club on 22nd June 1999, making it one of the first, most successfull and longest running Dive Centers in Vietnam.

In 2002 five of the western dive staff and the current owner and decided to buy the company from the original French owners, they dropped the word "Club" and Octopus Diving was open for business, run by young, enthusiastic divers, for divers. In November 2004 Octopus Diving became Sailing Club Divers and part of Sailing Club Vietnam.

Sailing Club Vietnam was founded in 1994 by a young and ambitious Australian, Peter Vidotto. The first Sailing Club Bar was in the form of a rustic beach-bar right in the heart of Nha Trang. Over the years, this little rustic beach-bar grew to what is known today as Sailing Club Nha Trang and embodies a truly signature ambience easily recognized by its guests. As the image and establishment grew, the company then expanded to further beaches of Vietnam, with the opening of the Mui Ne Sailing Club Resort & Day Spa (Mia Resort Mui Ne) and our signature restaurant, Sandals, in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City. The Sailing Club family now has plans for a multitude of developments across the coast of Vietnam. Sailing Club Vietnam is proud to announce the opening of their second luxury beach resort on 1st September 2011 in Nha Trang (Mia Resort Nha Trang). Further plans to expand include another Luxury Day Resort and Entertainment Property (Sailing Club Hoi An) located on the shores of historical Hoi An and will encompass all of the quality and services that our guest have grown accustomed to.

ln June 2005 Simon White was promoted to General Manager at Sailing Club Divrs and with the reputation & support of Sailing Club Vietnam and his guidance Sailing Club Divers has become one of the most successfull and well respected dive centers in Asia, winning many awards along the way. In 2009 Sailing Club Divers came 3rd in this region which also includes Thailand and Cambodia for PADI's annual New Diver Aquisitions award for increasing our entry level PADI courses. In 2010 Octopus Diving also won a regional award presented by Scuba Schools International Australasia for "Excellence in Diver Training" for our computerised classroom and commitment to SSI's online training programs. Sailing Club Divers successfully completed its first PADI Instructor Development Course in September 2003 and still maintains the only 100% first time pass rate at PADI Instructor Exams in Vietnam.

Starting from offering only daily dive trips and basic PADI courses, Sailing Club Divers has since expanded into Vietnam's premier PADI Five Star Dive Centers with booking locations in and around Nha Trang at: Nha Trang Sailing Club, 72-74 Tran Phu, Mia Nha Trang Resort & Spa, Bai Dong, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay Resort & Spa, Ninh Van Bay, Evason Ana Mandara Resort & Spa, Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel & Spa (Ever Blue Travel) and Novotel Nha Trang Hotel & Spa (Ever Blue Travel).

Sailing Club Divers is also an active participant in local conservation and a Project A.W.A.R.E. Go ECO Operator. We participate in the Nha Trang Bay MPA's Clean Up day, Crown of Thorns removal program, Project A.W.A.R.E. Splash for Trash and Dive into Earth International Clean Up days. In the low season of 2001 our local staff also helped install mooring buoys in the newly created Hon Mun Marine Protected Area as part of the campaign to preserve the coral reefs against damage by irresponsible boat anchoring.

At Sailing Club Divers we are dedicated to customer care and safety. We keep our groups small, a maximum of two divers per Instructor/Divemaster and before the dive our Instructors/Divemasters will conduct a detailed dive briefing in a language you understand. You may find discounts in other dive shops in Nha Trang but we believe that we offer a service second to none, quality equipment, dedicated staff and most of all an enjoyable and safe diving trip. We are also dedicated to the PADI system of continuing education and offer internships to Divemaster trainees at certain times of year. SIMON WHITE from Swindon, England - General Manager, PADI Master Instructor, Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer, Respond Right First Aid & Oxygen Provider Instructor Trainer, DAN Oxygen Instructor, DAN Hazardous Marine Life Injuries Instructor, SSI Master Instructor, PSAI Master Instructor, SDI Specialty Instructor including Solo Diver and Aqualung Tecnichan. Simon is in his 12th year at Sailing Club Divers, with the last seven as General Manager and has logged over 5000 dives and certified over 1000 students in Nha Trang Bay. Simon has previously worked in Cambodia, the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, Australia, USA and India.

NGUYEN DUY KHUONG  from Cam Ranh, Vietnam - Sailing Club Divers Head Instructor, PADI Master Instructor, SSI Master Instructor, SDI Specialty Instructor, Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer and Respond Right First Aid & Oxygen Provider Instructor Trainer. Khuong is a former English teacher so naturally his English is fluent. Khuong has logged over 6000 dives and certified over 1000 students in Nha Trang Bay, is able to teach various PADI, SDI & SSI Specialties including Enriched Air Diver, Deep Diver, Night Diver, Digital Underwater Photography, Solo Diver, Full Face Mask Diver and is a DSAT Tec Rec Gas Blender Instructor - Enriched Air. Khuong is probably the most qualified & experienced locally born Scuba Instructor in the country.

NGUYEN HA MINH TRI from Nha Trang, Vietnam - PADI Master Instructor, Emergency First Response Instructor, SSI Specialty Instructor and SDI Specialty Instructor. Tri (pronounced Chee) is one of the best known Vietnamese divers in Nha Trang. Tri is an Aqualung Technican and is responsible for the servicing & maintainance of Sailing Club Divers scuba equipment.

LE HAI HUNG from Nha Trang, Vietnam - PADI Assistant Instructor, Emergency First Responder, Enriched Air Diver & Emergency Oxygen Provider. Hung is better known by his nickname Ri (Ree) and has been working at Sailing Club Divers for the last 8 years. Ri has made over 6000 dives in Nha Trang bay and will show you many of Vietnam's underwater secrets.
