HOW MUCH IS DIVING?
Throughout Asia the prices seem to be around $50 for 2 dives; a little more at the more exclusive destinations and of course a little cheaper at the more competitive locations. However, what is happening in Vietnam is crazy! In Nha Trang in particular there are a few dive shops offering 2 boat dives, with all equipment and lunch for around $25 This is just too cheap. How can these operators really expect to convince their divers that all necessary safety precautions are in place, their staff are properly trained, or even that their air is being & filtered correctly? Simple, they can't or they lie! Luckily not all divers are that globally stupid. Most recognise it for the con that it is and avoid them like the plague, after all there are still a couple of reputable operators in Nha Trang who offer a first class service for a fair amount. Look for PADI 5 Star Dive Centers, they are the best of the best. Before you decide on your dive operator, do your homework, Google the Dive Center and the Dive Centers owner or General Managers name and read reports and travel blogs from other divers. Do a background check on Dive Centers that offer "Free Accommodation" or "Couch Surfing" as you never know who you may be staying with!

Unfortunatley there are Dive Centers in Nha Trang that are not genuine PADI Dive Centers but advertise as such to take advantage of the PADI brand but fail to operate at standards required for acceptance as a PADI Dive Center. PADI list all Dive Centers & Instructors that have been expelled or are mis-representing themselves as PADI Dive Centers on thier website, you can find it at Consumer Alerts. You can find a list of genuine PADI Authorised Dive Centers on their website, you can find them listed at Locate a Dive Shop You can also check if your PADI Instructor is a current PADI member and authorised to teach by going to Check a PADI members credentials
Please Note: Bookings made through Mia Nha Trang Resort & Spa, Evason Ana Mandara Resort & Spa, Sheraton Hotel & Spa and Novotel Hotel & Spa are subject to a booking fee plus service charge & Government Tax. Bookings made through Six Senses Ninh Van Bay Resort & Spa are subject a booking fee, service charge & Government Tax plus an additional charge for return speedboat transfers from the resort to Hon Mun Marine Protected Area.
A word of advice: Vietnam does not have the strict dive safety regulations most western countries take for granted. Make sure you check the dive operator you choose before embarking on your dive adventure. The cheapest option may not always be the safest option.
